How To Make Teriyaki Meatballs
A dinner your whole family will love—and (maybe) even love to help make—this teriyaki meatball recipe comes together quickly. Here’s the step-by-step for how to make them:
- Mix the meatballs using your hands or a stand mixer. If you use a stand mixer, be careful not to overmix the pork meatball mixture—a light touch is key!
- Use a cookie scoop or tablespoon to measure out the seasoned ground pork and roll the meatballs.
- Put the meatballs and the broccoli on the baking sheets and place in the oven.
- Make the homemade teriyaki sauce by giving soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, chili paste and lime juice a quick simmer in a small saucepan.
- Once the sauce has cooled and thickened a bit, pour it over the meatballs and roasted broccoli and serve.
Tips For Making Baked Homemade Meatballs
- Use fatty meat: Using fatty meat will produce a more tender meatball. We chose ground pork for our teriyaki meatballs.
- Dip your hands in water: use a bowl of water to wet your hands as you roll the meatballs. This is key to creating a smooth and uniform meatball.
- Use a rimmed pan: you don’t want any meatballs falling off the pan!
