Looking For The Best Orange Vinaigrette Dressing? We Got You!

A simple fresh dressing is the best way to add pizzazz to a humble salad, and this honey orange vinaigrette is a twist for any dish. We start with a basic vinaigrette and add a bit of honey, orange zest, and orange juice for a balanced tangy sweetness. This orange honey vinaigrette is fabulous poured over crunchy greens, is a favorite with roasted beets and other vegetables, and even works as a marinade for meat (beef especially loves these flavors).

How Long Does Orange Vinaigrette Last?

Our orange vinaigrette salad dressing recipe yields ¾ cup, and if you’re not using it all at once, it can be kept in the refrigerator for up to a week. During that time, we recommend trying it as a marinade for grilled flank steak in this Chimichurri Steak recipe, and orange vinaigrette for beets is a winning combo – we’ll walk you through best practices in our step-by-step How to Roast Beets.

The Ingredients To Have On Hand For This Orange Vinaigrette

  • Vinegar, we love this dressing for its flexibility, because most vinegars will work: white wine vinegar, apple cider vinegar, champagne vinegar or rice vinegar will do the trick.

  • An orange - both for its zest and for its juice!

  • Honey

  • Dijon Mustard

  • Olive Oil

  • Shallots - these are key for a really great vinaigrette

  • Salt + Pepper (but you probably knew we were going to say that)

Love this dressing! I see the nutritional value but What is the serving size? Is there a way to make it with less calories?

We don't have yield listed on here so it would be 1/6 of the recipe. A lot of the calories come from olive oil so we don't recommend substituting that.

Awesome dressing. I Roast carrots; make farro or freekah (sp). Toss together with some of this dressing, but also add a little cumin. Wonderful!

    Sounds super delicious!

This salad dressing was so good and very quick to throw together. It's perfectly citrusy without being sour. It is my new favorite salad dressing! I love that it doesn't have loads of sugar like most store bought dressing but still has a sweet flavor.

Thanks Tresa! Glad you love it!
